So what did people think about the achievements system? I'm kind of an achievements ***** so I was disappointed when I saw the ui. I'd like to see something similar to the core connect ui with a more graphical view, it was rather hard to navigate the different achievements. The lack of achievements and rewards (from what I could see, but I didn't get that far) was also a disappointment. I do hope they add vanity rewards and some hard to do achievements later, maybe kill a certain encounter differently or do a group quest by yourself, etc, etc.

Achievements are pretty much the worst thing that happened to gaming.

I wouldn't agree, it's a really good side game for the end game and many people enjoy it.

I love achievements but the UI does need tweaking. The achievement book in NW kind of felt like the journal that players got in WarhammerOnline. I doubt it would happen ever and I would be fine if it didn't but I wouldn't mind seeing the achievement tab getting redone, maybe add some pictures to achievements (in the vein of WoW), something like that, it just feels a little too bland and hard to look at.

I've always hated achievements. To me, it smacks of desperately trying to get players to stay in the game to get. That. One. Last. Achievement...

Unfortunately, I am in the minority here it seems. This is fine, I shall ignore them, pretty much like i've done in every other game i've played that has them.

Yeah when it comes to achievements it's all individual. Either you like them or hate them, and they are easy to ignore :P

    The problem with achievements is:
-Beat super secret boss in a 1990 game; obtain super secret sword.
-Beat super secret boss in a game with achievements; obtain achievement, the super secret sword is unlocked in the shop and you can buy it for 50$.

So unless they give some actual extra Astral Diamonds, Celestial/Ardent coins or things that any player regardless of class/build can enjoy they are just a burden.
Cosmetic things may be cool, but implementing them for each race/class would probably be difficult.

Never really had to problem in wow, but I raided with my guild, never did pugs. And from what I've heard, raids aren't even gonna be in Neverwinter, at least it's not confirmed, I did hear some talks about it but nothing solid.

You should never get real items from achievements, just vanity stuff. And if they implement rewards I do hope they don't sell the rewards in the shop.
