Changing window focus (alt-tabbing) breaks dialogue boxes

I recently purchased a companion and when I went to bind it, a name dialogue box popped up for me to enter a name. I wanted to check some notes for an appropriate name, so I changed window focus via alt-tab. I should note that I was playing in maximized full screen mode.
When I changed back to Neverwinter, I could type in the box, but I could not use the mouse for anything except looking around. I could not press "Alt" to access the UI, either. Pressing "Enter" did not enter the name I wanted. Basically, I could not get the dialogue box to go away or access the UI. The resolution was to end the Neverwinter game process and log back in.
