Huge to the point of limitless.
However remember this game is not a seemless open world environment (such as Skyrim) and will be using *large* instances. How large those instances are varies but they are indeed large enough to get lost within many of the instances.

And the Foundry makes it *actually* limitless! Because people can create zones/dungeons/areas/maps!
I was wondering how that worked. I knew the game was largely instance based, but there is a whole mount system. Is there an expansive overworld?
There are outdoor (overland) zones. I have not been to one yet, but, it has been said they are "very large". It is not one continuous world like skyrim or something, it is more like NWN with a large map and "zones" you can fast travel to. So are large open world zone where other players will be running around with you, and others are instanced dungeon or even outdoor zones that only you and your group will be in.

I'm looking on youtube for any videos which discuss purely navigation but I'm not finding any.
Maybe I'll make one this weekend since it seems to be a hot topic.
No promises though, I never make videos >.<

Intrested in this question. Understand the larger world map and movement between zones. But what is the size of the "world map" relative to the Forgotten Realms? Is it expandable? Is or will it be customizable? Just trying to gage the design space of user created content if I wanted to use the world map (particularly for navigation between modules)

Attachment not found.
That should give you some idea of the initial space you have to work with.
