About the OSD - Our Guild Philosophy

First of all, OSD is currently on 'Dragon' Shard in Neverwinter. Apt considering our name :)

The Order of the Silver Dragons (OSD) are a long-standing multi-wing gaming community that was founded in 2006, and exists well beyond any one game, being involved in many gaming environments. Most of our players are based in USA, however we have many across all timezones; Europe, Asia, Australia.

What makes the OSD unique is their ongoing commitment to mature interactions, their proud display of civility and concern, their desire for adventure and their healthy placement of value on individual effort and communications. They are known across many gaming servers for taking the high road when situations arise, and they pride themselves in the knowledge that they will always strive to help others. Their continued success stems directly from the OSD officers of this community whom take it upon themselves to uphold these virtues, reminiscent of the fabled Knights of the Round Table, which in turn are mimicked by the community of players within the guild. The source of the success of the officers derives from the wisdom of their community leaders, who have been instrumental in the formation of such a strong community.

The OSD consistently leverage their community talents and imaginations to enhance the gaming experience. Definitely not a hard-core guild, their maturity level allows absolute respect for the various playing styles of the community, however they absolutely still engage in competitive play! Recruitment is an on-going active event between their current members, the leadership and the person who wants to join the OSD. The online forums symbolize the key to this success, being the heart and blood of this organization.

We are all proud to be members of the O.S.D.

What We Offer
A commercial-grade forum that is very active. Our members actively talk within the various gaming communities, as well as discussions of both present and future games for the PC, Xbox360, PS3, etc. There are also forums for general chatter regarding technical issues, books, movies, music reviews... pretty much anything that comes to mind.
A commercial Vent server that can be used for raids, groups, pick-up groups... or just to hang out for relaxation with your fellow friends and colleagues.
A full calendar system with a robust event scheduling system, and an RSVP mechanism (allowing yes, no or maybe to events).
Support and resources inside of the gaming divisions. Our members are never left out in the cold. We take pride in helping our members out with whatever they need across our various gaming divisions.
Security in Numbers. Our members are devoted to working together which allows you to quest and adventure in the world with security and peace of mind.
Information and Mentors. We have explicit resources to help people learn the specific game and become more skilled, and many of our members are highly-skilled at the top of their class just waiting to pass on their knowledge to others.
Frequently scheduled events. Members in our division will consistently schedule raids and events, placing them on our in-house calendar, including dungeon runs, PvP and RP events.

NWO - Dragon Shard

SWTOR - Jung-Ma (known asOperatives of the Silver Dawn)
GW2 - Isle of Janthir

    Sounds like a great guild. But seems like you are located on other end of the world from me (Northern Europe).

    Might want to add a location thing in your description to denote which part of the world you are located. I didn't notice until I saw your signature :)

    Indeed, I am in Australia....but I'm just the person in the guild most keen on NWO, most are American, with a decent smattering of Europeans. Good point though and thanks, my personal sig shows where I am, but doesn't represent where the majority of our members are, and the OP has been updated accordingly.

    You can say that again. I made the mistake of not checking the site for a whole day once... An hour later I catch up on the forums on only the stuff I was interested in reading. Talk about chatter boxes! :rolleyes:

    All kidding aside it's a great group of people. I couldn't imagine joining up with another guild if OSD had a presence in the game. As long as you can forgive them Aussies... ;)

    Haha, yep we get a lot of traffic and posts most days, but it leads to feeling very much part of the community. Nice to see you'll be joining us in NWO Vastiner.

    We have about 15-20 established guildies coming over to at least try NWO. That's 15-20 before we open our Silver Gates to more prospective recruits. Decent starting point for sure!

    So how can I join? I am 14 though, but I can play a bit in the day, and maybe 6-8 hours at night, i live on the east coast of us.

    I will most like be playing control wizard, or cleric!!! my aim is extremely good due to a lot of quakelive.

    When the next Beta weekend comes in, we will open our Silver Gates to anyone who wants to apply (and a link will be posted on this thread, so feel free to subscribe to it if you want updates). Additionally, I will PM those who have sent me a PM, or posted on this thread.

    We don't have an age minimum per se, but we do want like-minded mature people. There is a short questionnaire on our website when we formally recruit for NWO which we use as a bit of a screening process. While we rarely turn people down, we take pride in our guildmate's conduct, and want to ensure that people understand their responsibility in that regard :)

    As mentioned above the apps on our site are planned to open at around the next Beta weekend, although from the interest and PMs so far, I'm likely to expedite that to this weekend (time permitting). I'll link it here and PM you when it's opened. Thanks for the interest!!

    We now have over 20 OSD guildies confirmed from other games (DDO, SWTOR, GW2 etc) coming over to our NWO chapter, and that's before our 'Silver Gates' (recruitment page) opens this weekend for new applicants.

    Hey there, How's it going looking for guild mates to play with have fun, raid, kill, adventure with my daughter will be playing also so we need a guild. I have been playing since the start of EQ so been around. plz get ahold of me as of now we are playing Rift..

    As of this weekend, we have around 30 people in the Neverwinter Online section of OSD. Sky's the limit, and some of our newer gamers are already getting to know folks from across all of our division. Awesome job so far everyone!

    We got a bunch of guildies invited in-game, and more still to come. Our recruitment is ongoing up to and past launch date, and there's lots of useful info on our guild website for those who are interested in joining. Was nice to catch up with the people I did, and see ya all next Beta w/e!

    Bit of an update as we move ever closer to the next Beta weekend, we are still taking apps for the time being, and I anticipate we will up to launch. Having said that, we are keen to get to know everyone better, and so recruitment is not necessarily going to be open forever. If you have been considering joining a guild, and you like what we're about, feel free to complete an app.

    Thanks :) For your forum title goto User CP > Permission Groups and you can enable your 'Guardian' title instead of 'PWE User'. Hope this helps!
