Even though it is cliche in MMOs for someone to make characters from Salvatore books, I've always been a fan of the Drow and would have to say Menzoberranzan

I've only played in one game set on Faerun, but we're questing out of a muddy huddle of huts in the middle of a forest and trying to help the local tribes fight off slavers. So my answer is anywhere that has a thriving economy so I can spend all this gold...

I'd like to see Cormyr with Zhentarim-driven storyline. Some regions unspoiled by any other game.

This is a tough call between Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter, but so far I am am going to have to say Baldur's Gate is my favorite city at this point based on the adventures I have had there. Perhaps Neverwinter will be the game to change that...remains to be seen

I would have to say Melvaunt. I have run a couple campaigns that begin in that dangerous city and they were a blast!

Waterdeep. The Ruins of Undermountain alone are enough to keep a group busy for many weekends. You are located near enough to quite a few other interesting areas as well with Neverwinter to the north and Baldur's Gate to the south. A very short distance to the south just past the town of, Daggerford? cant remember for sure as it has been a while since I was pnp DM for my group, is a ruined area from which evil outsiders tried to invade Faerun. The city is ruled by a fairly just council of lords and there is a bit of a celebrity in a famous high level mage living there as well.

Would Ten Towns count? Mithril Hall after that.

If it has to be an above ground city then I would go Neverwinter I guess.

Have to go with the city that started it all for me and Faerun, that being Neverwinter. Though I'm curious about the capital of Cormyr.

I was always partial to Shadowdale. Old school, where it all began, really.
