From watching Total Biscuit's* play through the dungeon run was just that, a dungeon run. It looked very similar to any MMO action/RPG dungeon run and there's nothing really wrong with that, but it left me with a real question of how deep stories will be told in NWO.
I saw some brief dialogue windows, some very basic cutscene camera work, but other than that it was just combat. Are there more author mechanics available for telling more complex stories in-between the action bits? Can NPCs talk to each other? Can plot unfold? If so, how?
*BTW, TB always does great videos...glad they got him in there and I would love for Cryptic to give him a pure Foundry themed video.

It can, but you'll have to wait until Foundry becomes available as it's under NDA and being updated from internal feedback.
I will say you saw end chapter content called a "delve." The other parts of that section are half open world and half instanced before then. I'm sorry they didn't even go to that area to show it off first (the tower) the tavern there is awesome!
