Will NWO have an Aution House like WoW, LotRO, and DDO or will it have a Open Marketplace like D3 or GW2?
What's the difference you ask?
Auction House
Allows the players to list and bid on items found in the game as loot.
Marketplace
Allows the players to list and bid on items found in the game as loot.
Allows the players to place buy orders for materials like a stock exchange facilitating the trading of goods.
Allows players to buy in game currency for real world currency for use in the market.

It will have an auction house.
The specifics of whether it is an Auction Hourse or Marketplace by your definitions have not been released yet.
For what it's worth, Champions Online and Star Trek Online each have two nearly identical systems, with one that acts like your first "Marketplace" option, and one that acts like your third, but only for one ingame currency; Questionite for Champions, and Dilithium for STO. It's not been announced what there will be for NW's "Astral Diamonds", but when I posted an analysis of Star Trek Online's Dilithium trading as a useful comparison, a red name said it was "insightful".
This doesn't in any way guarantee NW will have the same thing; I'm just saying that's what Cryptic's previous games have had, and they've not had anything like your "place materials orders and wait for them to be filled" option.

Yeah on some of the videos, Thesquez has already mentioned that there will definatley be an AH but didn't go into detail.
In beta it seems to be a 2001 era Auction House. Limited sort-ability, few searching options, no column for minimum level requirements, left/right arrows that "page" through the contents. Pretty sad so far.

I loved how many people listed stuff for control wizards and great weapon fighters. I wonder if that will carry over to the next beta weekend. Yes, was definitely a bit limited; not searchable by effect would be another I would add Eldarth. It'll be interesting to see if they develop this more and also how the use of astral diamonds will work. Show us broker fans some tender love.

However, an improvement over STO and CO in that you can do actual "bid or buyout" stuff. Kind of like eBay, instead of the "buyout only" mechanics in the other games. If they can put in CO's level range filters, it'll be a huge improvement, and pretty much ready for launch.

the Bid or Buy option sounds nice.
I would still like a Market place system thou, with spaces for characters to sell/buy their wares from. To me, IMO, it would add quite a bit of flavor walking into "Market Square" and seeing the place loaded with people.

Add a bid or buy option to EQ2's system, enhance the search function, and you'd have pretty much perfection IMO. I have heard good things about EVE as well, but I have never played, so no opinion.
