There are no shards or servers. We all play on one server. There are different instances (Neverwinter #1, #2, etc.), but there is no other separation....

    As far as we know.

Who knows they may implement some shards and surprise us all!

But they have confirmed one server architect. i.e. even if they make "shards" they will be on single server. Hence it will be more like "virtual desktops" which you use in operating systems - not really separate but sequestered.

I am not surprised with this choice many mmo allow only two slots of characters at start, but usually two for each server (or shard).

Its a World Server it only shards if there are two many people in one place or you are in a dungeon

2 slots is pretty standard, I guess. I hope additional slots won't cost something like 10 euro, though...

Yeah I'm an alt-aholic so will definitely need a lot more than 2 slots.

In my mind a slot per class (on release) is the standard.

that would be nice, shiaika, but in the past with games that allow you to buy character slots it's pretty normal to start the player out with half or less the slots compared to classes. 2 seems awfully stingy though.

Not so much on F2P titles. B2P, or P2P for the most part yes.

I will be playing the game with my dad. I know the answer is probably 'no,' but I am a bit of a ****, so if one account is created, can two people play on it at the same time? Or do we need two accounts. Thanks :)

You need two seperate accounts. You can't log the same account into two characters. But the game is free, so no worries.

I have bought both founders packs and over the weekend it showed I have 6 slots.
DDO for free players also starts with 2 slots.
Now that game buy any amount of Turbine points and they give you 2 for being premium.
Now I have been playing that game for years and have capped my account at 40 slots.
That other game if you are a subscriber as I am you get 10 slots anymore you have to buy with Turbine points.
I love both games and if allowed will be getting more slots.
I am not lost, I am exploring. All who wander are not lost.
Not all who seem to be lost want to be found.

The moderator enters the room and smells the scent of rotting flesh and stares angrily at the cleric.
What have you done Gillrmn!? Chosen of Selune my...his voice trails off as he dwaws his blades and slays the beast.

A priest should know better than to try to raise the dead if they've been dead for too long. They don't get prettier! He snorts in disgust and exits the room.

If a thread of over 30 days old, it's dead. As per the rules this is getting locked up.
If you truly feel this needs to be discussed, obviously the OP is long past caring about this thread, please start up a new one :D
