Just watched a video with Andy Velasquez talking about the foundry. I was very impressed overall but there was one bigh dissapointment. He mentioned there would be no uploading. That eliminates any chance of great voice acting and narrative which are the centerpieces of good DM'ng.
I'd love to change the Dev's mind on this one, although I understand the potential nightmare of copyright infringement.
Anyone know of a way of presenting it that might make Cryptic/Perfect World want to include it? Pay for upload space? Just an idea.
the devs have been adamant about custom content from day 1. However there is a possibility that they might select featured content from a few submitted quests and perk them up with things like voiceover or extra loot.
I was hoping to upload some music to set the mood for some themes of my work, but uploading anything in general from an outside source could get the company in trouble. I hope that they make a good variety of music to fit the atmosphere of what's happening, though, and that we have access to more than just World 1-1/water level/dungeon-theme, if you know what I mean.

its understandable that they would restrict uploaded content from pictures, icons, voice overs, sounds not just for copyright policing but also from the obvious trolls out there that would use inappropriate content. what i can see is perhaps a contest to let you voice over, import sounds ect... for a single adventure where it would be easier to manage. however they have stated they focus their efforts where the community spends their time/demands so one would only have to get the community to desire more and more foundry updates/additions in the future to see more content for it. on a sad note though like every other MMO out there it will probably end up being focused on raids/PVP rather than the true grit of the game.

We do know that there will be a DM Leveling system in which higher rated/higher played authors will gain access to more features in The Foundry.
I t is my hope that they might consider "risky" choices such as voice-over, texture or other much beloved features at the very least to those who are able to obtain reknown for their content submissions.
But that remains a personal hope and is no way hinted to being supported by the developers.

Maybe things like custom content uploading or something - the toppings(which cryptic needs to check before they do allow it in game). However, all other features in foundry will be free and avialable as soon as you log in.
Also DM levelling system mainly works for titles in the game and the forums I believe.

Fo real?
Where'd this piece of info come from?
I'm unsure how I feel about this. As much as I like giving people rewards for their efforts, I also feel like it's restricting mediums to artists.
