I have never been very good at introducing myself, but I will try.

I have been playing PnP since 2nd Edition, I may have played before then but I stubbed my toe on my 2nd Edition DM's guide this morning so I am at least sure that I was playing 2nd Edition. My last steady PnP group was 3.5 Edition but that was mostly because we had been playing together for awhile and had the source books for almost everything at hand. The old, crotchety gamer may have started coming out in all of us as well, resistance to change and other personilty quirks which tend to develop as we aged. We were all interested in 4th Edition but lacked the time and initiative to switch the existing campaigns over. I have built 4th Edition characters, specifically around updating the existing characters I was playing as well as characters I had played in the past. This was near the release of 4th Edition which was rapidly followed by geographic and professional changes which ended my PnP playing, for a time.

I have played a variety of fantasy based MMO's including WoW and DDO. I play for the enjoyment of the game. The story is as important to me as experience gains. I enjoy playing in groups but due to timing and availability issues on my part, I tend to solo most of the time. I enjoy grouping with less experienced players, hopefully passing on some small amount of knowledge that I have been able to attain and I enjoy playing with more capable players and trying to improve my competency. I tend to be a completionist, which to me means that I will try to complete all the content available with as many races and classes as possible. Given the UGC content that should be available within Neverwinter Online, this may be a more daunting task than I care to take on.

I am looking forward to the Foundry but I know that while I tend to be a fairly objective analyst of others efforts, I may be overly critical of my own efforts, which may result in nothing ever being released.

I have enjoyed reading through the forums and my basic assumption has been proven correct again. I am the dumbest person in the room. It is just how my brain translates "listen first, talk later". I look forward to interacting with all of you in game and in the forums.

Just received a response about vacation time from my boss, "Please take vacation time whenever it fits with your schedule." So power gaming it will be when I am allowed access to the game.

Welcome to the "Hurry up and wait" forum for Neverwinter! I pray your vacation time comes "soon" as all of us to be able to enjoy Neverwinter as a result!

The causative factor for my vacation will be access to the game. I do not believe that taking vacation on my part will change the release dates for the CB, OB or final release. Although it would be nice if that would occur. That would be a strange power to have, scheduling vacation changes the temporal experience of all beings.

I understand your feelings though, having read through the forums, many of you have been waiting for the release a great deal longer than I have.

Just to be clear, if the causative relationship between scheduling my vacation and the release dates can be shown, my vacation shall be scheduled immediately. In fact, I would schedule multiple vacation periods. Evidently vacation accrues for me and checking my available vacation caused a disturbance in HR. So I seemingly have the time available.

Hello! I remember my days scheduling vacation around gaming, lol. Loved to time it with EQs first few expansions, only there were always issues and you never actually got to PLAY on that first day... hopefully that will not be the case for you!

Welcome to Neverwinter Online! I can't say you'll get access any time soon, but glad you'll have no distractions when it is ready for you to play!
