arch! wonder why there's no guild recruitment thread on this forum.
well, I think it's mostly because there not actually being any "guilds" in the game yet. I'm sure once the launches, it's early access members will already have their guilds up and running for the rest of us, and will be happy to invite you...
Im hoping the guild systems robust. DnD I think more than other mmo's is more about socializing as a group than planning a huge raid. They have the technology in the foundry to give us an awesome guild hall creation tool. Hopefully they don't use member numbers as a way to level guilds. I prefer to stick to small guilds, but don't want to miss any of the guild perks.
Edit: plus they could use it to fund their store quite well I'd think. Option A you take a very long route of leveling your guild with guild xp. Members earn guild xp doing quests, unlocks more perks/items. Or option B: you buy your guild unlocks in the store. I know i'd be taking option B to build a guild hall.
I do hope it's a revamped version of STO's fleets with a few minor changes that allows for smaller guilds to level as well. The smaller fleets in STO have issues with starbases and projects. I'm hoping that they learned a lesson from this design problem like they did with the lockboxes and make the appropriate changes to this game so that it isn't a problem here. (much like they did with lockboxes, in STO lockboxes require keys from the Zen store and since RNG is biased toward bad luck people usually tend to end up with nothing, where as in the NW videos I've seen about the currency system, they have a non-RMT system where a daily currency purchases these keys and not real money so participation not dollars are the focus of the boxes)
If they do that with guild halls that would be awesome. Where even the smaller guilds can level their halls without much issue and with simple daily participation in the quests/dungeons/foundries that give the guild currency to level them evenly and that they have the best gear in the game. That is the other thing I love about STO, Fleets Embassies have the best gear not instance drops.

if guilds are in NWO i dearly hope that they dont have "perks." i would hate to see that six months in there are a small handful of big guilds and no little guilds because your crippled in pve/pvp with no guild "perks." if they make it so that you get useless <font color="orange">HAMSTER</font> "summon banner" or some silly lil pet thats fine but not "+X dmg vs Y" look at wow and most other games that have perks like that in the guild system.

I meant more like, "Unlock guild housing, unlock guild vendors, unlock guild crafting stations" Even Pve buffs wouldn't be bad. Just cleanse them on entry to pvp areas.

The problem with that is it causes people to join guilds just for the perks. Which creates horrible guild communities.
Wow... I too have had bad guild experiences, but that is the reason I settled into a "gaming community". Now we are all close/virtual friends and travel from game to game together. I could not have asked for a better group of people to game with, and our doors are always open.

If a guild wants to let in people just to use their perks, that's their right. If you want a guild community that's close knit, don't let these people in.
