Loading Screens

Different games have different things as loading screens. Some have screenshots from various locations in the game, some have tips for new players, game lore, etc. Personally, I love concept art. So I would love to see concept art displayed in NW's loading screens. What about you?

lol You can tell we, the community, is running out of topics to discuss now that we've hit loading screens as a topic. However, on topic, I must vouch for the scantily clad women of the region vote. That sounds appealing. :P

I will third the scantily clad women idea, so long as 4e dwarven women don't have beards! Seen that before and it was not pretty...Anyways, tips are always helpful too! Saves me from having to spend an hour reading the help/tutorial stuff to figure things out.

GOOD NEWS!! 4e Dwarven women are beardless and quite hot acutally! Makes for more reasons there would be Muls running around.

SO I Vote for Scantily clad women IN the general area with a tool tip to go with it. Best of all worlds.

Here's an idea lets combine both ideas, on the pics in which the females are "too" scantily clad they could place tips in strategic locations!

I'm not sure if "too scantily clad" can be possible though hmmm...

I vote for scantily clad succubus like in DDO...

EDIT: I meant that one in that beta loading screen.... remember?
Or more like this - with element of danger with those claws...

Secret world has topless succubi..... just sayin.....

As for me i love the idea of concept art, but i think it would be kind of cool to have it like there the excerpts from the books where it's the concept art but it gives a little of the info about what it is, i.e. monster backgrounds or city info. stuff like that. over all though the concept art as a whole is pretty cool.

You mean something like these MMORPG loading screens?

Anyway, I'll go with concept art.

    Of scantily clad females.

Well, when all we get news about is the foundry (we're all waiting for class/builds info, right?), of course we're running out of topics... However, on topic, bits of lore/region information would be nice.

But it's actually an interesting topic to say the least.

I don't care so much about what kind of pictures are shown while loading. But I'll ask for Cryptic to add only pictures of well formed males in scantily clad clothing and suggestive poses. b:victory

Barring that, art related to the area is good. I'd leave out concept art out of it though. That belongs more to the gallery section of the web, imho.

About text shown while in the loading screen... uff. I like tips/hints but in theory, you should get those while in-game. Showing lore about the area or stuff like that seems better option. But in both cases, the big issue is the loading times of the areas. If the areas load too fast, you won't be reading much. If they load too slow, you could read a trilogy.

I can't decide what is "worse:" that we're talking about load screens, or it somehow went to pin-ups of D&D?

But for the record, Muls (or half Dwarves with human being the other half) can look beautiful, as you can see from my Female DarK Sun Mul Calia Character Builder Pic (but played as a Shaman.)

Wait, I just encouraged this topic more...geez. :p

Loading screen can be in true D&D fashion too...

Just a black screen with random words in center, like:-

    "Later that day..."
    "A week later..."
"From afar you hear distant voices..."
"You travel through the area only to..."
"Your mother looks like a hamster and your father smells of elderberries..."
"You strike the coconuts together riding the horse..."

Did you mean to list a Monty Python's coconuts riding clip (and I chose the one mentioning coconuts too,) or was your link intentionally Gangnam Style?

Truthfully I was searching for monty python when searching on youtube but that one is more truthful in representing ride of horse.

It's a great video to do, unless you're an El Monte Lifeguard.

Awww.... thats sad. But I do think they will get them back, there weren't any people in there so it must be off-duty. They should have involved management too and released it as official promotional video. It was quite... entertaining.
