Common companion from a Lockbox?

As the title says, I opened a firefox lockbox last week and was given a common level companion. I actually had to double check to make sure it wasn't listed as one of the levels of companion that pop from them. Don't know why, but apparently just submitting it through the ingame bug reporting tool isn't enough so they told me to post it out here also.

Was the companion the Damaran Shepherd? I've gotten one from a lockbox before myself. Seems they are in the uncommon companion list even though it's common level.
