Celestial Enchantments lower my stats.

Could someone explain to me how celestial enchantments can screw up your stats. I only have two in green now if I just plain remove them which kind of messes with why I bought them. With them all on I have either power in red or combat advantage in red depending on where I put them.

By upgrading enchantments, you've increased your total item level. That means any stats which stayed the same are now a lower percentage of your total item level.

It's a tad more complicated than that with the increased "combined rating" on the upgraded enchants, but essentially that is what happened.

It has nothing to do with celestial enchantment. It has everything to do with the item level setup.
The higher the item level, the lower the stat percentage in general, regardless if it is enchantment or gear or whatever.
All stat is compensated by combined rating which is lower than item level.
Individual stat is increased by specific stat.

Lets use Celestial garnet as example, it has item level 1800 and 1620 combined rating and +2700 power.
Comparing with NO enchantment in a slot to having a Celestial garnet in the slot.
your item level is increased by 1800.
All stat is increased by 1620.
Power is increased for additional 2700.

Rating contribution is 50% - X% / 1000 in which X is "item level - stat" or 0 if it is negative.

Using the above example, for all stat (except Power), X will be greater (since item level increase > combined rating increase).
Hence, by default, your rating contribution for all stat (except power) will be decreased.

In a nutshell, the 1800 - 1620 difference (180) is: to take 180 from 14 other stats to give 2700 to Power.

Long time ago, I already told you more than once that having more item level with useless stat is bad.
In short, whenever you increase your item level, you will ALWAYS lower the rating contribution for most of your stat and hopefully that is not the stat that you care about.

And... having a stat that shows green means it is a little higher than total item level, so some points are being wasted.
A stat that shows red is a lot higher than item level, so more points are being wasted.

So... green is better than red, but green is not "good".
If you don't want to waste any rating points, keep the values just under the total item level.

Basicly any stat that is not enhanced by the gears stat line aka the +all attributes only, will actually drop a little because the IL improves more than the +all attributes stat. Upgrading your celeste adds 300 IL but only say "280" to most stats rending a slight drop.

So in a nutshell it is more important to have good stats than item level up. So to be able to get your stats up you need to increase your item level or stats with good gear-which is the hardest thing to get because to get the good stuff you have to complete master expert dungeons which you can't complete without having the gear already. This game is so difficult but I guess that is what keeps it challenging.

Quadratic equations are easier than this game to figure out. I am not going to think about my IL anymore and especially ty plasticbat for the detailed answer- I think I understand it better-I think I get to much air in my head when I am playing sometimes. :)
