Empty treasure chests and skill nodes

For a while now (noticed it about 2 weeks ago or so), many times chests and nodes open, but there are no rewards. I can see other comments about this, but they are from long ago (2013), so I'm guessing this is a newer issue. Is anyone else seeing this? It seems to be more of an issue in Sharandar than other zones.

    Not really a new issue. I have experienced (as I started to pay attention) that over a year if not longer.
    No, it is not limited to Sharanadar.
    People like me just got used to it and stopped fruitless bug report.
    My characters basically just camped beside chest and/or node. These days, I basically, login, do invocation, open chest/node (if available), logout for my 9 characters.
    I probably got the empty chest/node over 10 times so far today and it is just 3pm local time. I have not done my pass of the 3rd invocation of the day.
    If I have to guess, they have a kind of timer to 'fill' the chest/nodes. It usually is much better (for a while) after they restart the server (Thursday) or reset the weekly cycle (Monday).

    I have a couple of theories...
    • They introduced some anti-botting measures back then, and maybe there's an internal cooldown, or it keeps track of which nodes you've opened, so if you keep trying the same thing too much it stops working.
    • Some bug happens that stops a node from working, and then it stays broken for that instance. It seems like broken skill nodes happen more in instance 1 (the instance with the longest lifetime), and then it's OK for a while after a server reset. And other instances are better.

    It seems to me Neverwinter has done little to update chests and skill nodes since they were introduced... unless you consider removing things from both an update.

    You used to get quite good crafting resources... things like dragon eggs and unified elements.
    I guess today's equivalent would be masterwork ingredients.
