2nd ignore list...

prodrugzprodrugz Member Posts: 19 Arc User
aloha...

seeing how some disrespectfully dropping an LFG AD in Zone Chat...

would like to suggest adding an ignore list specific for zone chat users...

so to not see them drop any thing in Zone Chat...
but see there calls in other chats(LFG-Trade-CustomChannel-PM-Party-Queue-etc...) for benefits & keeping it alive...

as in rightclick on a name in zone chat
and having an option
or extra option
says something like
"ignore(in zone Chat Only)"
same as there is a "ignore player" & "report spam"

but all previous ignore list should be cleared if this ware to be added .. to start a new page...

Zone chat is a default that anyone can use for any reason.

There are no rules for using zone chat other than those in the terms of service.

But they did deliberately introduce other channels for specific purposes... like LFG and trade.
I don't know if they wrote down "the rules" anywhere, but there certainly was an intention (many years ago).

I remember loads of people complaining for being reported for inappropriate use of zone chat...

So I would disagree... zone chat was not supposed to be an "anything goes" channel.
It was supposed to be an "anything *else* goes" channel... and if I remember, the main repetitive content that appeared at the time was guild related advertising... for creation and for recruitment, because they hadn't created a separate channel for that.

That's how I remember it... good luck finding any evidence...

OK, I found this (not senile yet)...

    seriously...
having other chat types & saying "no rule says that"...?

if your in a sensitive job postion .. i would report your response to your HQ & advice that department to change your position or fire you...

you are not a safe person to be around with your selfish talk .. specially in crisis moments...
if you cant be civilized & logical
    instead of..
..working by the rules only .. which leads to corruption & the fall of that orginization at the end...
i could pinpoint 90% of world issues from someone with your mindset...

& like the other comment mentioned
they added multiple chat window to avoid this CHAOS...

    .
    .

    anyways...
would like to suggest adding that "ignore Zone"
    option & list

too many players good for LFG .. but they just make it annoying to look in ZONE chat & CHAT with others...

Since the devs that were around when they made that change are no longer around and the fact they never disclose the why of things, it is only supposition on your part that they were attempting "to avoid this CHAOS...".

When I was searching the forums for patch notes that brought in the changes, it was interesting finding threads of people complaining about how much stuff was in zone chat, how fast it was scrolling past, how it made it unusable. In 2013.

So I think there was chaos then (remember all the gold sellers?)... but any problem we have now is on a much smaller scale, and probably not worth addressing.
