Collars

So what about the people that have already upgraded their collars to mythic? Can we expect a rebate or something? Paid top price for everything needed to upgrade all the collars to mythic and now all of a sudden you change it to make it easier and less expensive! Somehow I feel cheated.

Everything always becomes cheaper and easier to obtain down the road. Not the first thing and not the last thing. You get your goods "for the moment".

Terms of Service states they can change whatever they want, whenever they want, without any prior notice or compensation.
I'm not looking for forgiveness, and I'm way past asking permission. Earth just lost her best defender, so we're here to fight. And if you want to stand in our way, we'll fight you too.

The usual answer is that you have been enjoying the higher item level and bonuses that mythic collars provide and that should be enough. But I agree it's disappointing if you've only just upgraded them and then they make it easier and cheaper.

We can't really plan for these "step change" moments... either we never do anything (just in case) or we do what we want and each change leaves us better or worse off (and it hopefully averages out).

I remember once I had some legendary magnificent lockboxes... and one day they became mythic with different rewards and I could sell them for more AD. That was nice...

Not to worry though, in some future mod there will be a Celestial level to upgrade all your mythic collars costing some ridiculous amount of resources.

I really feel for any player who pursues the best available when it comes out... the put forth the time and effort to obtain it then their time and effort becomes a waste when the game decides to downgrade the price/effort for their previous efforts. For years I've suggested Neverwinter quit HAMSTER around with existing content and player requirements for that content and limit their changes to new content/MODs when it comes out but apparently Neverwinter is unconcerned with nerfing characters and items after a player works their butt off to build something good.

This is their Nth times doing that. It is known. It is not new. How many times does one need to understand the pattern and somehow still expecting it won't be the same in the future? For many things they did, at least, this is very consistent.
People did it early for the flame they want to get. It is their choice.

There a risk to leaving things for later...

On the plus side, they often make older content easier (increasing drop rates etc) and older content becomes easier anyway as our characters get stronger.
On the minus side, stuff can just disappear and become unobtainable... things disappear from stores, campaigns become adventures, crafting recipes change etc
It also gets harder if items require group content to be completed... but maybe that's a player base problem.

Anyway, yes, leave it for later and it will be cheaper or easier... but don't leave it too long!
