Storm King´s Thunder and Icewind Dale: Intolerable Bright of Snow and Fog

I have a low resource computer. I have to play with all graphics at minimum. Every time I go to do tasks in the Icewind Dale or Storm King's Thunder campaign, the brightness of the snow is intolerable to the eyes, but activating the shadows is not an option for me, because it greatly reduces performance. The only solution I have found is to reduce the screen brightness to 0, reduce the brightness manually from the monitor, and also run the Desktop Lighter program that reduces the brightness even more. Of course everything looks dark and lacking in detail, but that's the only way the glow of snow or Bryn Shander's bright fog with shadows turned off becomes tolerable.
