Hi all. I´m recently back to play! What do you say bring back old system of powers and feats? Because this way we have we have more possible choices to make our character, and so I think it would be a more interesting and fun!

I say it will not happen. They changed that for a reason, their reason. They spend a lot of effort to get rid of the old system and to implement a new one. I will not bet on them to spend a lot more effort to get rid of the current system and more effort to "improve" the old system to add whole bunch new feats for various mods since so that they can put back the old system to mess up the 'new' players (since the change) who know nothing about the old system but everything about the new system. And, everyone have to re-gear, re-configure their army of toons AGAIN to deal with the 'new' old system. So, it is not going to happen.

I just want them to stop changing the fundamentals of how it works. Just stop. It's a 10 year-old game, leave it alone and just release new mods and leave the nuts and bolts of it the F alone so we can all relax and put an end to our continuing PTSD. I loved the old system, don't get me wrong, I think it was a huge mistake to remove the feat trees etc, I loved it the way it was before, it was elegant and complex and wonderful and we all had slightly diff builds because of it and the game was richer for it, but regardless of all that and much more important, the worst of it is how they keep changing things and reworking the entire game over and over and forcing everyone to start all over and it's just enough and needs to fkn stop once and for all. No more changes please.
Apparently pointing-out the bleeding obvious is a 'personal attack'.
The last thing the devs will ever do is put the old richness back into the game. That would mean adding code to the codebase, and for many years they've been on a crusade to simplify their code as much as possible (read: make it as inexpensive to maintain as possible). This is why I'm always harping on the game having become "dull" -- because it HAS.

It wasn't richness though, it was a bunch of false choices. 99% of the player base choose the same feats, at least now there is some variation and even if you make the wrong choice, you don't have to repick a million different feats and levels of feats.
But at least you had choices. Even many minor ones. It was part of the experience of developing your character and customizing it as to how you allocated your myriad of points. I think there's WAY less variation within the same classes now than there ever was before, it's extremely cookie-cutter now with everyone the same, but we can all agree to disagree.

It doesn't matter. Take the Ranger. Yeah, most played Trapper. Not everyone did. Some did Archer. For the last several mods, from switching from the old character build system to the current, loss of specific feats, the devs seem to want everyone in the middle of the melee.
I'm not looking for forgiveness, and I'm way past asking permission. Earth just lost her best defender, so we're here to fight. And if you want to stand in our way, we'll fight you too.
Maybe its what the devs are told to do or the framework they have to work within to show the highest profit. I can see where the foundry could be a major pain, wish I had seen it though, but I bet they are told we want this and this to happen -so make it happen- and the only way they could do it was like that HAMSTER enchantment switch a few years for example. I could be wrong but the owners aren't developers right? The developers are people who are employees and who knows how stupid their boss(es) might be. I just know the world is not getting more intelligent or less greedy.
This doesn't develop your character but I loved the variety of areas and tasks and the feel of dragonbone vale. Northdark and menzoberanzan, and Narbodelyn are all the same with no dragon treasures and places like the summit. There was one thing from the dragon treasures that was just stupid in its distribution, I forgot what it was called but it was only found in the treasures from dragon site and was necessary for the best gear there and I only got one ever-and that is just wrong. Hope the next mod is in the sun.
