Wishing for: cloneable appearance item library entries

There are a LOT of unobtainable skins in this game, items that used to be available in the distant past that aren't anymore. It would be wonderful if we could clone something we have in our appearance library and get an account-bound version that we could give to an alt (even better if it was in a form that any class could apply to their library).

You're forgetting something. Cryptic are the kings of recycling. They want to use those skins for 'new' items in new mods. If they leave them long enough everyone will forget what they looked like and then they can bring them out as new items. It's what they do. Case in point, I saved some really old original PVP gear items from back in the day (I think they're called battlescarred) for years and years in my guild bank, and recently made a TR. I looked and saw I had some antique PVP weapons, checked them out and saw they were really nice and added them to appearance library and equipped them thinking I had something now unique hardly anyone else did. Then a week or so later I get a drop of something from a recent mod and as I always do have a look to see what it looks like and if it's worth adding to my library and it was the exact same design, only one tiny part on the handle was a different colour. They just recycle everything they can lay their hands on and they're not going to hand all the old stuff out to us for free because that would mean they have to work harder and invent new things.

edit: Oh I didn't read ur post properly, ur saying if u have it already u should be able to get more copies of it (I like this idea generally anyway for all clothing/skins for ur alts) and it's not about making it available generally, but I still would think that Cryptic wouldn't make something from the old days more visible than it already is, they still want to recycle them all and hope everyone thinks they're new, so I doubt they will be agreeing to even this idea because they want the 'old' things to fade away into obscurity so they can re-issue them as 'new' and have everyone go 'wow great work thanks for the new stuff'.

This is a wonderful idea, it's also something they could sell you for Astral Diamonds (account-wide) reclaim; it would also help you advance your collection score for various character's.
