Summary: Suggestion to replace refining material in Arcane Coffers in the Dread ring with a random drawing of (any) campaign currency and seals.
In DnD lore, Thayans have no aversion to theft. They do not respect the property rights of other nations. Thayans will frequently steal (so long as they believe they will not get caught).
When we consider what Thayans would place in their arcane coffers protected in some of their most fortified citadels, it is likely such stolen goods would be placed there.
In the Neverwinter game, the Dread Ring occupies a privileged position as an early campaign. Thus, it offers an opportunity to introduce the other campaigns.
My suggestion is to create a new loot table for arcane coffers that would include no gear, no crafting ingredients, no refining supplies, and no hunt currency. This loot table will need to be updated with every new mod.
At its most basic (and common) the drops would be adventurers’ seals and legacy campaign currency. Most common should be drops that could be donated to guild coffers such as elemental strands, ice wind dale currency, and dread ring currency.
As gauntlets progress, larger quantities of currency (up to a dungeon chest drop) and more advanced campaigns should be added.
At the last (adamantine gauntlet) level, uncommon currencies, rarer shards, and even advanced dungeon drops should occur with great rarity (one in two hundred and fifty to one in a thousand).
Each drop should have a lore entry associated with it.
There should be a title associated with accumulating a certain number of these lore entries (Thayan Kleptomaniac ?).
Purposes:
1. Introduce new players to other campaigns
2. Support guilds
3. Remind old players of what they could buy with uncommon currency / drops (i.e: “Oh wow, one more crystalline leaf and I can get an item”)
4. Reignite interest in forgotten content.
I am aware that this change is not going to affect end game players much.
I hope this modest idea is helpful.
I am interested in feedback from the community.
