Returning Player Experience

Greetings, I am/was a returning day 1 player that has been away from the game for a few years. Upon logging in, all of my enchantments were in my mail and I was told from other players the enchants are no longer usable. That I needed to trade them in to a vendor to get coins that would then allow me to purchase boxes for the new enchantments. This is rather discouraging. Lightning Enchant, negation, bark and so many others max level or near max across multiple characters, all worthless. And when I did trade some of them in for these coins, for these boxes, what I got in return was far less.

Honestly, this left me thinking and feeling like the professions overhaul all over again. One of the main reasons my friends and I left. I tried to come back after that but seeing I was locked out of content because of item level. Seeing old content had been taken away and returned, rebranded as NEW… what ever that battle pass like system was in Avern..? I forgot the name.. I left the game again.

Yesterday I came back and as I said, stuff taken away again, to be traded for lesser quality items. Spent 2 mil AD in an attempt to upgrade a green enchant only for it fail. Won’t be doing that again.

There was a welcome back notice but nothing in game explaining what to do with all of my legacy items.

The whole experience has just been… confusing, frustrating and exhausting.
This is the only game I’ve ever seen take away players hard work and give them back something of lesser value calling it an equal trade.

The entire experience has just been horrible and it’s only been two days. I don’t know what it is that’s keeping other players engaged… but I’m not sure I can be one of them.

also what exactly u meant by failing to upgrade ; were u using any motes and or wards ?

The new enchantments are better than the old enchantments, a level 1 new enchantments is equivalent to the old level 15 enchantments so you haven't been given something of lesser value it is of greater value, enchantments have always pretty much required a coal mote to upgrade as they always had terrible chance % so nothing new there really just less resources required to upgrade as now its just glyphs of potency refinement points and a little bit of gold and yeah 1 coal mote to ensure the upgrade works
