Protector's Speech: Stop the Duergar

This segment is pretty much a guaranteed failure based on the mobs and the Def/HP of the Blood Forges.

In one occurance (so far) one of the Forges regenerated/respawned after being destroyed.
I'm not looking for forgiveness, and I'm way past asking permission. Earth just lost her best defender, so we're here to fight. And if you want to stand in our way, we'll fight you too.

Yea, agree on the forges. They have too much def/hp and are buggy with respawning.

They've made it insanely harder with the mobs, someone should tell them it's not supposed to be a top-tier endgame trial, it's supposed to be a fun frolic anyone can do easily and have fun at to celebrate the annual birthday event. It's supposed to be easily doable with a minimum of stress.

    Greetings,

Thanks for your feedback! This version will probably be rebalanced for the next run.

It's a shame @percemer, it was a fine and fun event for the entire life of the game, close to a decade or however long since the Jubilee started, that's how long we have done the Protector's Speech and it's always exactly the same, everybody knows what to expect and everyone loves it and looks forward to it) and now suddenly they tweak it and change a bunch of stuff seemingly for no reason other than someone in Cryptic had a silly idea (ie: 'let's make it more of a challenge') and decided to have a fiddle with it. It's stuff like this which makes the players mad. It happens too often in the game, where things are changed for seemingly no reason when there is no problem, all this does is disturb the playerbase for no reason. If there is something which is not working fair enough, change it, or add new content, but things which are working and have been working well for years, it's infuriating to me they keep tweaking stuff and screw!ng it up.

The other issue with this skirmish is not only with the strength of mobs and hitpoints of some things, but also in some of the placement they have decided to use. The have put the targets players need to clear in tiny corners (I guess because it looks nice) but the main target you are supposed to kill fast (which will decide if the team gets their bonuses or not) is surrounded by hard-hitting mobs who sometimes just keep spawning from the same position (blood forge) and in these extremely tight spots, there is nowhere to move to get out of the way and position yourself with the mobs to avoid getting killed. Whoever has built this has placed these groups in closed-off tiny corners in the map where you are literally surrounded by walls a few feet away and especially for melee fighters, it's too easy to die trying to get to the main target and kill the mobs as well. You're just swamped and can't escape properly. This is end-game challenge type gameplay, not something which is designed to be a harmless fun event everyone of every level can do for the daily quests. So it's both the strength of the mobs and the hitpoints being too high, but also the placement they have used on some of the groups. At the end of the day this skirmish is something you have to do for the event and people usually enjoy it and want to run it, the last thing Cryptic needs to be doing is making it harder to do and more unpleasant. We have players from level 2 or something up to lvl 20 doing it, from the weakest to some of the strongest and well-geared, it needs to be fun for everyone and not have people dying throughout. They had the balance right for years, I have no idea why they tinkered with this very important aspect of it. Ty.
