Died and Stuck in Menzo.

Doing the first quest in Menzo as a 20 Barbarian. Everything was great with my Healer helping out until the spiders. They got me. I got some of them, but not all of them and I died. Ok. So I spawned back at the beginning of the [Instance?] place and the first blue wall now stops me. The wall won't open and there is nothing to fight. Jarlaxle is gone. What gives? Isn't this a bug? Shouldn't I expect to run back to the spiders and try some more?

What do I do now to play the new expansion. It looks great, but I'm stuck.

    Happened to one of my low lvl alts with last boss. After a bit I figured out I was at the end of the area with boss undefeated, so couldn’t get to boss or leave. Having vip, I tried sign post and it brought me back to the beginning and I had a long run through empty caverns until I reached that last boss again. So, chances are you’re also at the end, not the beginning.

    He said he was killed by spiders. Hence, he was not dealing with end boss (the ox man). Spiders are just after the 1st boss.

    Yes, but it sounds like the same problem: Jarlaxle gone, can’t get past blue wall, probably wasn’t a campfire there either. It’s a bit disorienting to be put at the end when you die.

    For OP, since this is obviously a bug, it should be in Bug Report forum.
    Assuming by now, OP is not in the cavern anymore.
    If you logout since, you should not be in the cavern anymore. May be in PE.
    Can you do the quest against? If not, can you remove the quest and get the quest again?

    I logged back in and was a able to finish the quest and I'm now in Menzo. Logging back in put me in Protectors Enclave. I just followed the quest again and it looked like it put me far along in the map this time. So I guess that is the fix for the problem. Log Out and Back in and continue with the quest.

    I died twice, but was able to use a Scroll before going back to a Campfire. Jarlaxle was no where to be seen after I died. So I guess that's another bug. Shouldn't he respawn and come back to help us after we die?

    Yea he is supposed to follow you right to the exit.
    Apparently pointing-out the bleeding obvious is a 'personal attack'.

    But if you die, he runs away like the coward he is. Kind of like Alric in Vallenhas if you killed doing Bolstering.

    Hello,

    I confirm that we're currently aware of two issues regarding this quest:
    - respawning issue
    - Jaraxle disappearing issue

    We will also fix them as soon as possible.
