Drider House Captains and Incursion bugs

Hi,

Just wanted to bring this to the devs attention.

1. The Drider House Captains are doing hundreds of thousands of damage per tick with their sticky webbing, which is a guaranteed instant kill for anyone who isn't able to get out of them fast enough:

Combined with the constant falling arrows, it means that whether you stand next to them or far away from them you instantly die if you happen to get caught:

2. The falling stars don't damage you if you Line of Sight the boss by standing behind something.

I like the mechanics by the way, I just think they do way too much damage right now.

I am giving this feedback from the perspective of my Tank Barbarian (I have 50% in my defensive ratings in combat, but Defense is 90%):

3. The Incursion heroic encounter has a bug where the spiders and other mobs constantly yell their engagement shouts, over and over again, and INFINITELY regenerate their health. The only way to kill them is for a dozen or more players to dump damage onto them as their health is regenerating.

I am not complaining about this because I want it to be EASY by the way, I want them to be hard. I figured out how to solo tank, without heals, every single Heroic Encounter in the Mod 24 area and not lose aggro. I would love for it to be possible to figure out how to do that with these Driders. Having a healer should just make it easier to do that, not be absolutely required.

    Hello @eyceaether,

Thanks for reporting! The first issue should be fixed with the upcoming patch. Others are still being investigated and will hopefully also be fixed soon.

    Thanks @percemer

Can it also be noted, that during the Drider House Captain fights some of the mechanics appear to be doing damage before the effects appear. Specifically the spiders/webs and on rare occasions, what I call the "purple falling stars" (Magical Barrage), at times this effect also seems to extend out past the red indicator (I've been killed standing just outside the red, I now make sure I stand a little further back).

There are also a few areas in the Duthcloim district in particular, where the ground texture prevents the red AoE indicator from being visible, mostly on the tiles. I'll try to remember to grab coordinates and screen shots next time I'm fighting there.

It might just be me, I live in Australia and I have, on a good day, a ping of 230ms (a bad day sees a ping of over 300, thankfully those days are rare). I do enjoy the more difficult mechanics, however, if I want to play content with twitch mechanics, there are trials for these. I don't believe twitch mechanics belong in "in-zone content".

I think it is just a time delay. I have not experienced damage before the effect. I have had a good one second after the red appears and before the damage drops in. I was also able to stand just outside of the red or within a tiny gap (when the drider was not pull further) between the web and outer red circle.

Apparently pointing-out the bleeding obvious is a 'personal attack'.

Note that: it appears we will not be able to hide using line of sight anymore. It is considered as a bug.

"Bug fix where line of sight would prevent Magical Barrage from hitting.".

Now, killing the captain is very easy. The only thing you may need to avoid is the Magical Barrage. May be even that is not that hurtful since I have not been hit by that yet. One can stay in the web and keep hitting now. The duration of web is shorten too.

I suspect +driders will be less but yelling "my instance #N has 5 driders" will be more.

I really wish they had put a -incoming healing debuff on the webbing... It needs to continue to be something you can't just heal through.

It's actually working really well now imo and has a nice flow and rhythm to it. The webbing seems (for the characters I've done it on so far) fine to stand on, it does reduce your health down, but on the upside they have the timing right so it's short enough of a duration that it doesn't kill me and I can pop a potion when it goes away. Rotation seems to be jump right up on her as close as u can get and hit, when the red circle (knock) appears around her dash back out of it a way, then as soon as everyone has been knocked, dash back to her again and stay in the middle on the webbing while the outside circle of doom is going on.

I would say it is now easy, no sweat but taking times to do the same routine again and again.
One can now stay next to the captain like forever.
Range can choose to step out and come back after knock back.
Melee can just stay inside but dodge within at the right moment (so that one does not need to waste time to step out).
Those who has shield can just stay inside and bring up shield at the right moment.
    In short, just keep hitting.
