In Northdark I did several Fungal BHEs to further the "Rite of Worms" quest without receiving credits. I dropped and re-took the quest but remained at 0/4 worms dead after another run.
After asking the awesome players in zone chat, it turns out that healers and tanks don't currently do enough damage to register for a successful quest. The solution was to switch to a DPS loadout or group up as a tank or healer. I'm not sure if it's a bug or by design but I have put in a ticket and they are looking into it.
Have fun

I have alot of alts and have been fighting spending alot of time getting this done. Dropped the quest picked it up again, Changed intances logged, its not just healers or tanks, a character I have that I feel has low DPS has found it impossable zero credits after many kills. Solo I have found credits hit or miss, Being in a gruop , seems to be most helpfull to get it credit.
If that HE has many DPS with good damage and kill the worm fast, your character may not register enough damage.
I play all 9 classes. My 9 characters had no problem getting worm credit except for one worm in which my character (Cleric) came into the HE when the 1st worm only had 25% of health. He got credit for the 2nd worm.
It is not bugged. It is the "design" of how to get credit which is questionable - damage the worm enough.
In short, if your damage is not good and the worm is killed fast, most likely you won't get credit.
In addition, if you cannot avoid knockback by the worm when others can still stand around and keep hitting, you lose a lot of seconds of damage opportunities.
I will escalate this to check if it's intended or not.
Thanks!
