Disclaimer: All of this highly depends on the auction house economy and can differ from platform to platform and on a daily basis. This is how it's *usually* like on PC.

Should I prepare for the event by crafting the required resources?
No. Craft Gold Bars instead and buy the resources.

Ok gotcha. Now should I sell the bought resources or actually use them to craft the event recipe?
Craft Sprockets, especially if you can achieve >90% Focus. But it's probably better either way.

I only have one toon but tons of resources and gold. Should I use morale to craft more?
Yes, always.

I have tons of alts. Should I craft Sprockets with them as well or just do gold?
This depends on the difference in focus% on your main vs. alts. Sprockets if the difference is not more than 10%,

One Artisan gives me more Focus, another less Commission cost. Any clues?
Focus, in all case.

My inventory filled up with Grommets, Cogs, Sprockets, and Gadgets. Now do use Wards in the refining process?
Yes, to protect Gizmos and Thingamabobs in the last two steps. Conveniently, the event packs drop BoP wards so you should never run out of wards in case you plan to open packs yourself. If you have tons of bound Wards that you cannot use otherwise, you can freely use them in earlier steps.

The Doohickeys and Wondrous Packs dropped in price. Should I sell?
Aim for at least 40k on the Auction House. They usually go for up to 50k.

How much profit can I roughly make per 999 Gold invested?
500k AD

I ran out of of Gold. Is it worth to restock on the auction house?
Unless the 999x Gold Bars sell for north of 500k, yes. They haven't been over 300k in forever. Issue will be that there won't be much supply. This also means it's way better to do the event and not sell your gold even if the demand is tempting.

You're right there's no gold available. Should I buy the resources from the AH?
This depends on too many factors, but the answer is generally no. This means if you run out of gold the event is most likely over. Supply will be an issue here as well.

Yo if mats are generally overpriced, why not sell them instead of crafting?
Good question indeed! In most cases you'll still be better off crafting Sprockets, especially if you don't need to buy morale.
