visual gear appearance: shirt/trousers

is there a way to visually display only your shirt and trousers from the gear set?

I like the appearance of the infernal forged shirt and trousers, and want to convert them to visual appearance library cosmetics, but I have never been able to figure out how to get them to display. would the only way to be able to do that is by being naked gear-wise, except for the shirt/trouser? I do not see a way to hide/disable 'armor' appearance.

No. The best you can do is find a 'barely there' armor for your class, such as the leather vest for ranger/rogue/bard or the Marauders Garb for tank classes. Warlock has an armor that is bugged and displays as gloves but that may get fixed at some point.

ok - thanks for the advice. I understand now the workaround you are suggesting. is there a 'barely there' armor for a male cleric?

Hellfire Armor is all I can think of - but you will have some impressive shoulder pads.

thanks for mentioning the hellfire armor, it is not what i was exactly hoping for, but actually it is very cool looking in itself. I would like to get it on some characters, but it is very expensive on the auction house.
