    This refers to the "progress" toward "progress reward". If you do not know what "progress" is, move your mouse to your character icon and you should see "Progress to next reward: XX%". 2x allows you to increment that counter faster.

    The term "Double XP" would be better though since we often use the word progress in many other places, like event progress, campaign progress, quest progress, dungeon progress, etc.
