The new quest version you get after Icespire Peak for the enchantment part from Knox cannot be refined, discarded or sold. Upon quest completeion, it just sits in your inventory taking up a space, so now there's this permanent item of no use taking up room in my bags. This was supposed to be a fix it appears, but has created a bigger problem in my view.
