Uber-N00b Guide to playing Neverwinter?

I'm curious whether there is a basic, explanatory "Getting Started" guide to explain what you see on-screen when playing Neverwinter? There's a lot that happens onscreen when in combat, as well as graphics and symbols and other things that show up during play.

I'm looking for a 'Key' to what I see while playing. As an example, when in combat, you see numbers popping up all over the screen. Some are red (damage?), some are green (healing?), and some are yellow, blue, orange... Sometimes these number show a lightning bolt at the end, some have a bent arrow, some have a shield, etc.

There are graphics that look like gauges when I play. What do those mean, how do I interpret and deploy whatever power that is?

Sometimes my health bar shows partially blue on the left end. What's that mean? HP buff?

Where can I find a key to all the tiles relating to my buffs and debuffs? (I know there are ways to cycle through with my controller and see some of this stuff, but that's not very practical in combat).

How do I interpret the variations of the circles that show up under the mobs I'm fighting?

Etc., Etc.

What does all this stuff mean? Seems like the kind of guide I'm looking for would have to come from the game creators... I looked through the guides on this site and didn't see what I was looking for, the closest one I found was from 2013.

Trying to become a more efficient and effective player.

I haven't seen a 'Beginner's Guide to Neverwinter' that covers all of the basics, but I haven't really gone looking.

I know that the new levelling system has put in some effort to cover some of it with the updated Trade of Blades in PE (now called the Adventurer's Guild).

A lot of the base mechanics may be the same since 2013.

Here's a quick start to a few of your examples:
Red numbers= damage dealt to you.
Green numbers= healing received.
Yellow numbers= non-critical damage dealt to a target by you.
Orange numbers= critical damage dealt to a target by you.

If your health bar is partially blue that is temporary HP granted by a shielding mechanic.



If you can't find such a guide just post any questions on this here thread that you started and I would hope that your fellow adventurers would be mature enough to help answer any questions that a new player has without any flaming or other sarcastic BS lol. 😁

There may not be an all-in-one be all/end all beginners guide but the info is definitely out there, you'll just have to do a little leg work to get it all cobbled together.
