You have to "Sort" it out. Used to have a similar problem when I was just pretend posting in the AH just to see what the auto feature came up with for pricing on items and sometimes if I decided to go back and post an item then sometimes the empty space it left would apparently still be in use.
For me, sorting the bag or the entire inventory was the only way to get rid of it.
Sorting your entire inventory to the bottom bags works but it should be your last resort if you already have everything pretty much set the way you want it.
Ya I tried that already....been playing from day one...got all the classes maxed till new mod last month or so... but the Dragon Hoard bag has this dam item that will not even let me auto short it by it self so it is a big bug for me has I am a hoarder in this game...LOL
Since this a visual in-game bug you should also be posting a picture and/or video of it as well. Seems that visual aids will sometimes help speed up the process.
for PC we are able to do a "Force Verify" before logging into the game and now a days I do this every time there is maintenance or a new event of any kind and since I started doing that issues like this one and others simply do not happen to me anymore.
the only one that does happen is the mysterious disconnect from an instance that seems to happen to only one player every single time a new instance is started. Although based on what I have read in the forums it happens to me way less often than it does for them.
For this one, you should be recording video for it because either way it is very strong video proof of the problem you are having.
The only other solution I have is to make sure the bad space is the only place left for a new item to go and then go get a new item. This is something that may actually cause the game to crash but either way it will provide strong video evidence that you have a problem that needs fixing.
If the game crashes then the new item has somehow bypassed your overflow bag and has tried to make use of the invisible items space which it should not be able to do. It is also possible that the new item just takes over the invisible space as well but based on what you said it seems very unlikely.
If it ends up in your overflow bag as it should then you should try a few times to place it in your inventory so they can see that it is a problem that needs fixing.
