Banner in The Chasm

I'm trying to collect the banner in The Chasm but the quest path leads me to a spot and there's nothing there. I've searched the area and still don't see anything. I see other players come to the same spot and go through the animation of picking something up but I can't see what it is. I've tried logging out and back in, changing instances, restarting the whole game, and abandoning the quest and reaccepting it. Still nothing
