This error is stopping me updating this Thursday's patch and therefore playing/getting in. First time I've had a problem with NWO that Force Verify does not fix.
Any ideas? Not keen on reinstalling as I have a quite slow connection.
Success! Two reboots sorted it after all. Thanks Kreatyve.

This happens when the game is not fully shut down while it's trying to install. You can either use Task Manager to fully close GameClient.exe or you can reboot your computer. Either option should fix it.
My opinions are my own. I do not work for PWE or Cryptic. - Forum Rules - Protector's Enclave Discord - I play on Xbox Any of my comments not posted in orange are based on my own personal opinion and not official. Sad to say not the case. I had played approx 2 hours before maintenance and exited the game through my normal (8 years now!) route of hitting ESC then exiting through the menu. The laptop was shutdown through the Windows Shutdown process later. Then today I opened the Launcher and started the patch, hitting this issue. I have tried Force Verify, now on using Task Manager the game was not present in the list of processes so I tried patching again, same error then tried Task Manager to stop the process. Tried again, same error.
