Dagger of Shadow - bound status changed

I have 2 of these old transmutes. Since the last patch the bound status was changed from bind on equip to bind on pickup. I only found this out when it returned from the auction house to my mail, at which point I couldn't do anything. If anyone has older transmutes, might want to double check their status before moving, if possible.

I've filed a ticket and am posting here so I can keep following it up.

This item was re-introduced as a reward for the quest "Crystal Clarity" in The Chasm, the item is bound from the quest, this shouldn't impact pre-existing items, especially considering the bug (you've chosen) to bind the re-introduced transmutes to characters, meaning existing characters who previously completed the areas and quests can not obtain them.
