After Jewel update now I can't play???

After the jewel update my computer gets to the character selection screen but doesn't load it all the way. I can't see where to click. I can hear the background music. I occasionally will see a empty box. I've done a fresh install and my computer settings have not changed. Any ideas???

Update graphics card drivers? Did you update Windows recently?

Thanks for the response. I've checked for drives and I actually did a fresh install of windows thinking that might be an issue. No luck. neither fixed the issue.
