Failed to Connect to Log-in Server

I am trying repeatedly to log in. It will log in successfully. It will load to the character screen successfully. I try to select a character and it either takes minutes to load or it kicks me out to the log-in screen with the error "failed to connect to log-in server". If I can load a character, the game plays fine. It feels like it takes 15 tries to get 1 log-in right now. This problem just started today for me. I have tried rebooting. I've tried force verifying the game. Everything else I try to connect to or run online works fine, except Neverwinter.

Again "connection to log-in server timed out. Please try again later."

Just a suggestion and may not be related to your problem, but have a look at your network adapter settings and turn off anything relating to energy efficient settings, can be called 'green ethernet' settings and also 'EEE' settings. Turn them all off if you are able to. Also disable 'flow control' if it's on, disable 'Gigabit Lite', and set your 'Speed and Duplex' setting as high as you can and see if any of that helps. I had an issue with my network adapter settings which affected me for a very long time where it told me I was connected fine but at the other end it thought I was not there and was not loading webpages or giving timeouts. I had to constantly restart my computer several times to get it to work and once it was working fine it was fine and no issues, but I was then to scared to turn it off again because I knew it was going to happen all over again. After about a year (no joke) of this happening and getting nowhere with my internet provider I stumbled across a forum and found the recommendations and downloaded a tool and changed my settings and once I did that I have not had one problem since and it's fine. Like I said this may have zero to do with your issue but I thought I would mention it anyway because if your network adapter settings are out of whack it can lead the other end you are connected to to think you are not there and timeout on you even though from your end everything looks fine and it's telling you you're connected normally.
Apparently pointing-out the bleeding obvious is a 'personal attack'.
