Frame Rate on older consoles

Hello, frame rate has always been an issue on older consoles and i've kinda always done my rotations from muscle memory but it's almost unplayable at the minute and is a lot worse since mod 20 dropped. The slow load times between doors in dungeons are annoying but i can live with but massive drops in frame rate is making end game trials super difficult. I know some solutions are buying the newest gen console or getting extrenal hard drive etc etc. but this more asking about what I can either do in my settings or asking for cryptic to testing playability on older consoles before doing updates. thanks

I'm having the same frame rate issues. I'm running an original Xbox One with the game installed on an external SSD. Doors and zones load faster with the SSD, but that doesn't solve the game play performance issue. I've been trying like hell to get a new console, but they are sold out everywhere.
