Dark Ritual armor

I am using a Barbarian Blademaster. She has Dark Ritual Armor equipped. It drops the greenish balls and she stand next to them and nothing happens. The balls do not go away and there is no mention of healing from that source in my combat log. I have used this armor before the recent changes on other characters and it worked, so I do know how to use the armor. I think this may be a bug.
