Yojimbo's Discipline does not give the combined rating to stats

I was on my Assassin Rogue and trying to find something for deflect, so I took out my redcap's power and slotted Johimbe's discipline. It does indeed raise the deflect %, but does not add anything to Defense or other stats (it is supposed to have a combined rating of 300). Thus, my other stats dropped because the item level still increases (same as redcap, both are purple level) but the combined rating does not get added to the stats. So, across the board drop except in deflect. I do not think this is working right.
