Why did 2x professions end 3 hours early????

According to this website and the official blog post from last week 2x professions was supposed to last until 10am PT which translates to 1pm EST. But it ended at 7am PT/10am EST. All events prior to today have always ended at 10am PT but for the first time ever a 2x event ends 3 hours early, why? How can I trust this game when the information on this official is incorrect? And why should I ever spend money/time on the game when I'm repeatedly treated without any respect for my money/time investment as a player?
