Improvements for Combat Rework

Hey all!

First off, I do understand what the purpose of these changes are. It's nice to see levels streamlined and scaling remain consistent across equipment. That being said -

It really feels like there is no advantage to getting better equipment - and instead we are punished for it. It is disheartening to see stats go down every time you change a mount combat power or an insignia. Unless you have all top-level items, we are having to constantly rework our build to stay on top of our stat percentages.

Likewise, content scaling is aggressive! When running a minor dungeon feels exactly like running an epic dungeon, it's hard to want to spend the time, especially when item payout and AD payout is so low. The one advantage is that since most epic dungeons are no longer completeable, it does make for a nice challenge! All that aside, some improvement ideas:
  • Don't scale higher level players so aggressively for lower level content. Allow us to keep some of the edge that allowed us to run things quickly - maybe not one-shot level (though I loved it), but regular dungeons are painful as is to a casual player like me XD
  • Make only certain equipment items worth item level. Perhaps only actual equipment items? When I change out an enchantment for a higher enchantment, I don't want to see my levels in everything go down.
  • On the flip side, make it so that combined ratings actually mitigate the above effect. maybe make the combined item ratings rise in the same proportion to the item level? So that as you raise item level, you aren't punished by a drop in combined stats. This should imo be true across the board. If combined rating were a set percentage of the item level of the item, this problem would go away because stats would only drop when swapped from bonuses.
  • Enemy spawn rates might need adjusting. Things are a lot harder to kill now, but enemies are spawning just as quickly, and that means every dungeon we run we are overwhelmed. Even the normal ones.
That's it so far! I love this game as a casual player, but it's not casual right now. Even changing out enchantments and abilities is a stressful practice because I know that, when I equip a higher level item to buff a secondary stat, my primary stats are going to fall as a result.
