Chat Tab Changing

Hello,
I received a new computer and am having major issues with the chat tabs randomly changing. I have set up tabs such as Alliance, Guild, Treasure, etc. I can go from one location to another and I am no longer no the chat tab I choose. Same thing with a fight. Is there a way to get the chat tab to stay on the one I choose?
