Spell Plague Cavern (SPC) Heroic as a weekly Avernus task

Hi,

I would like to ask Cryptic to remove SPC heroic from the current list of potential weekly heroic tasks in the Avernus campaign why do I ask this?

I am happy for one of the devs or a player to tell me I dont understand the tactics for Nostura, the last boss in the dungeon, but until such times my opinion is she is more buggy than a termite mound. The main bug being related to the curse she puts on random players. This curse is deadly, it drains health resulting in immenent risk of death, it cannot be healed through and it is more contagious to players not socially distancing than the new variant of Covid.

The only way to remove the curse is to look directly into the gaze of Nostura which is supposed to remove the curse. OK it seems we have a disease and a cure so no problem right? No sooooo wrong because:

1. Sometimes more than one player can get the curse at the same time even if they are way apart
2. Nostura's gaze only removes the curse from one player at a time
3. Positioning directly in front of her when she casts gaze to remove the curse seems critical with a narrow corridor for success.
4. Commonly the frequency with which Nostura casts gaze, particularly after a player has been cursed, is so long that they will die without even getting the chance to remove it using the mechanic provided.

This combined list of bugs guarantees a high certainty of death to anyone that gets the curse and the end of the dungeon attempt

SPC is a long dungeon so I think going through it only to be thwarted by what I consider to be a buggy Nostura encounter is so annoying and time consuming (multiple runs required before the Curse Gods smile on your party) that I believe most players don't even attempt to do it, which essentially means the loss of 1200 favor

    Nostura is a DPS break-check.
I'm not looking for forgiveness, and I'm way past asking permission. Earth just lost her best defender, so we're here to fight. And if you want to stand in our way, we'll fight you too.

Well yeah I didn't mention the "bug" whereby if you dps her down too fast she throws her toys out of the pram and defeats you all :) because at least that bug has a reliable workaround which is only to use at will powers to ensure lower dps. The curse bugs on the other hand have no reliable workaround

The curse can be healed through. I heal my team mates through it regularly, however, in saying that, the DoT's are ridiculously HUGE, and should be reduced. Healing two cursed party member at a time is rarely succesful (I've never tried to heal three or more, haha, that would be nuts!).

As long as the cursed members look at her to get stunned, the curse should get removed, regardless of how many are cursed. If the curse isn't removed, they didn't look at her, and you don't need to be in front of her, the stun is a 360 degree stun. you can be looking at her back or side, and she'll stun you. I've never experienced or seen a bug with this.

The big issue... is the randomness/frequency. Even if you play it slow and careful, there is still a good chance that she'll hit someone with a curse just as she pops those last 5 portals up, because she WONT do the stun mechanic

So have you ever looked at the battle tactics section of your journal? I'm not sure if these fights are included but have a look! Press J Then at the top there are tabs, 1 of which is battle tactics. It lays out the bosses mechanics for you after you wipe the fight the first time.

I suspect mechanics will be much more important once the upcoming combat changes come.

The problem I have is the random time frame between cursing a player and the stun to release it. When I DPS I swear the time is short between me being cursed then stunned, but when I heal the time is A LOT longer, and almost like clockwork she stuns immediately following my death.

At this point I've given up on running this hardcore.
