Epic (New) Artifacts are BoP out of pack and tradebar store

I opened a Magnificent Artifact Pack and chose a Music Box, which immediately bound to character. It seems that the Music Box, Trobriand's Ring, Erratic Drift Globe and Wyvern Knives have become BoP in both the Magn pack and on the tradebars store. The Staff (and all other artifacts) are still BoE. Please fix. Also, please un-bind my music box because I didn't need it on that character and I really didn't want to spend 300k AD for an artifact I already had. Sadface. Thank you!

I have just checked the Trade store in PC. There are 5 pieces of Artifacts. All of them are Binds on Pickup except Staff of Flowers which is Binds on Equip. I suspect they may fix it by making Flowers to be bound on Pickup too. :(

I sincerely hope this is a mistake. Never has an artifact from the tradebar store been BoP. Never has an artifact from an artifact pack out of a lockbox (and one we are paying for, no less!) been BoP. It sets a worrying precedent. There is no way to tell when buying the artifact pack from the AH that it is BoP, nor does it warn you when you are choosing the artifact. Very sneaky, and such an expensive loss for me. :( Thank you for checking the PC market to confirm.

Since it is BoP (on character) from Trade bar store, you can't sell it to AH. I can't say what happens to those already in AH though.

EDIT: you were talking about the pack. My mistake. For the pack, there were BoP item in other packs before. Just saying.

I can't recall any tbh, and I certainly don't remember that the last time I used an artifact out of the magnificent pack being like that. Not saying you're wrong! But I know I've pulled the music box out before and I just don't remember one way or the other that it bound immediately like that. Seemed odd when it happened this time around. And seems odd when you consider the Staff didn't fall into that group either. If a person is purchasing a pack from the AH for any other reason than to equip on that character then it would be nice to know that before purchasing, and I see no way of knowing that beforehand by looking at the description. And if you're buying on the tradebar store, it's not like the description in the tooltip really stands out, you know? With a tradebar sale coming up, I imagine there might be quite a few disappointed people who buy artifacts on their main character expecting to sell, or give the artifact to an alt, or another player.

I am not saying they did not somehow change the nature of a particular pack because I don't really know about the pack you talked about. What I was trying to point out is I always need to be careful to open the pack (which does not have those information) with right character just in case it could be BtC. It happened in the past and people was burnt in the past too.

Agreed. I don't like it, but I will certainly be more careful in the future. What I especially don't like is the tradebar store having BtC items, I can see why the Equipment/Mountaineer sets might need to be bound, but should be BtA upon pick-up, not BtC, and the same for artifacts if that's how the devs want to do this. There is literally no reason for those items to be BtC. Having to carefully read every tooltip looking for all these different traps and loopholes should not be a part of the game imo, there's just no reason for it. BtC should only come into play when the item is legimately equipped or when it's campaign currency and the like, not when making these kinds of purchases using account-shared resources. Yes, I know there is a shared bank I can deposit to and withdraw from on the toon I want them on, but why should that be a necessary thing? And thank you again for checking PC, I'm assuming PS market is also the same. To really make this a new-player-friendly game, this is something I feel the devs need to take some time to go through and check, and hopefully modify :)
