What happens to Zariel's currency when Milestone 1 is complete?

Milestone 1 on my server is at 100%. The advertised start date for Milestone 2 is Sept 15, or just over 2 weeks from now.
In the meantime, will the Zariel's currency being earned across the server now simply be ignored when Milestone 2 goes live (currency counter reset to 0), or will the amount earned since Milestone 1 was completed be applied to the requirement for Milestone 2?
In other words - if I manage to complete my personal goal (28k currency) before 9/15 - will the currency I earn AFTER that and before 9/15 be applied to the server goal for Milestone 2 - and by extension will the same rules apply for Milestones 3 and 4?
