Intro Campaign - after 28/5/2020 seemingly get stuck at 'sort the shards'

So, I recently reinstalled NWN after a very long time - created new char to see what's different - did, among other things, The Seer, went to Tower district, got orb shards , and did the 'sort the shards' step, etc. That was last week.
Now, there was the update on 28/05/2020, and Saturday (or Friday) I decided to see compare how this campaign played w. old character - but, I got stuck.
Quest is listed as 'the staff of Savras', says "View the chronicle: The staff of Savras" - which I did successfully on that new toon, before, but now I cannot. Because those orb shards never dropped for me while in the Tower District.
Since I thought it might be due to that old, resuscitated char, deleted that, created new character - did same; same issue, not getting further here.
I have no idea what's up.
