Activating Divine Pallisade on Paladin feels very cluncky

It could be so much easier to activate Divine Pallisade (Divine Champion + Block). We can't activate Divine Champion (Tab) if we are blocking with Shift but why?
It we would be great if we could activate Divine Champaion during blocking and the blocking would become automatically Divine Pallisade. So there would be no need to stop blocking, press Tab, then start blocking again.
A Fighter for example can use it directly per Tab. For a paladin you always have to use Divine Champion first which costs time and nerves.

However with decent stats (include sufficent incoming heals and Stam regen) is activating Divine Pallisade not always needed, it all depends on situation..
Even de nasty white ball from Halaster can be blocked with only Block (which preserves Divinity for more aggro controll).
