Storm spell not critting and hell pit issue

Since today's update fixed storm spell it's not working at all. I know it's a 20% chance but it's feeling more like. 0.020%.

I've been trying to get past round 3 in hell pit. Not a hope in hell can I get passed it Last time the event was here it was no problem. But something is definitely off since today's update/patch what ever you want to call it. I know it's a hard event. IL is over 20k. So in theory this should not be too much of an issue but nope I've burnt through all my sh foods, festival foods trying to finish.
Looks like I won't be getting a completion token this time round.

I don't think that your request will be noticed, as per these patch notes, Storm Spell had its "unintended" behavior "fixed".

The unintended behavior fix was for it to NEVER crit once it actually procs? Pretty sure the patch notes stated that the CHANCE TO PROC would be reduced to the correct 20% instead of being tied to your crit stat (I.e. up to 50% chance).
