Hi! A couple of questions regarding the two events named above.
1. Portabella/Apocalypse Dagger- I saw the livestream statement regarding Beholder Tank availability via content creators. And while that mount is truly one of my favorites, I was actually preparing to grind out the campaign for the Apocalypse Dagger. This completes the Ravenloft set, and the only apparent way to obtain it was through Portabella. I wanted to test out the Apocalypse Set, as the set bonus is interesting, if my stats didn’t drop too much from it (I’m still running the Tiamat set on my DC, except in Citadel, where it drops my stats too much. And there’s no real suitable replacement for healers of which I am aware; I can do more healing with that set than with citadel-ready, decently balanced stats & upper level artifact gear). How can I go about obtaining this? Why is it not available from the Ravenloft Campaign store, like the rest of the set, even if it’s just for a limited time?
2. Fool Fashion Set- Tymora’s event is the only opportunity to obtain the Fool fashion set. It appears that this year, you can only obtain the Fool’s Crown from the Tymora’s gift boxes, and cannot get any of the remaining fashion items in the set. These items even appear to have been specifically removed from the Tymora’s Gift boxes (the spaces where these items used to be is still on the tooltip). Will I ever have the opportunity to get the items? Will I have to wait 3 years just to complete the set?
3. Tymora Vendor- Was it intended that the only item available in the store was the common-rarity Amphail horse? I’ve won them in LoMM, CR, REDQ, RTQ, and any other place where you are basically awarded it as a participation trophy for the hour or so (+/-) of your time. It’s a white Mount with a 50% speed bonus... the exact same thing you get when you are level 5 & just getting started in the game. Except it has bows & ribbons...
I have been playing the game for about 8 months now, and I have been calendar watching for these events specifically for these items. Now, it appears I won’t have the opportunity to get either of them.
A comment on fashion: It might seem minor, but I had been looking forward to getting this fashion set for a few months now (I find it a struggle to find something that doesn’t look... “flower child.” A taylored look isn’t bad; I spent a ridiculous amount of AD buying the masked Highwayman set off auction, as that was really the only thing that was neither “hippy-dippy“, kind of trashy, or just plain... weird (seriously, how many people do you see running around wearing that bird/wind-thingy outfit?) The Tales fashion set was a step in the right direction, but the Avernas fashion was right back to “flower child attending a renaissance fair.” It’s not my intent to be mean or rude, just that there are basically 3 styles, and anything that doesn’t fall into those is ridiculously expensive. The multi-split skirt doesn’t really work on everything, and the riding animation would look fine if you just converted them into pants or short skirts.
A comment on mounts & companions- Not everything must be ugly or mean looking. For instance: people LOVE the Golden Lion Mount & companion. I know that in my first few months playing the game, my first 4 in-game friends all wanted the Golden Lion, from the first time they saw it. It didn’t matter if it was a good companion for your toon or not (still not sure, honestly, as the companion bonus is a little confusing). I can’t think of a single new companion or mount i had to have because I liked the way it looked. Honestly,I don’t know anyone in our alliance that was interested in one, including the Legendary Mount collectors. It’s just... not that attractive. 99% of all companions are enemies that drip saliva, etc. Consider bringing more beauty into the designs for new mounts and companions. Majesty, attractiveness, you get what I’m saying. Check what the lions sell for and consider: how many do you actually see when running around? People don’t pay those kinds of prices unless the companion is a good one (it’s not, really) or... they simply like it. And why do they like it? Because it’s visually appealing (or a novelty).
Anyway, that’s my two cents. I just wanted to put that our there, on the off chance this is read. Thanks for your time, and hope you understand that I intend no rudeness & only want to give voice to my thoughts. ~NT
